My stepmother was a classy dresseer. Back in the early 50's women wore full fashioned stockings almost exclusively. She was no different only she didn't need to wear a girdle as she was quite petite. She liked beige stockings but with a darker heel and seams to them. Daddy bought most of her lingerie for her as well as her stockings. She had a couple of pairs with Manhattan heels and dark seams.
